Breathe Outdoors will continue to fulfill web orders through alternate carriers while Canada Post resumes operations. Some shipments to fly-in communities or P.O. boxes might be delayed. We thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
An important note from Canada Post (12-16-2024): Customers should expect delivery delays through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025.
P.O. Boxes:
- Breathe Outdoors is unable to ship web orders to P.O. Boxes during this time. If you typically have packages sent to a P.O. Box, we highly encourage customers to provide a residential shipping address at checkout instead.
- We will begin attempting to ship orders with P.O. Box delivery addresses via Canada Post beginning on Thursday December 19th, 2024.
To make alternate arrangements for the fulfillment of your web order, please contact our customer service team.
Please Note:
- In the event your order is fulfilled by multiple locations, you will receive more than one Shipping Notification. Tracking numbers are sent via email in your Shipping Notification. You can check which courier your order was shipped with by opening your shipping email and locating your tracking number.
- If your order is shipped in multiple parts, shipping confirmations may be sent at separate times or dates. Should you encounter any issues with your shipment(s) please carefully review your shipping confirmation(s) and the tracking number(s) embedded in the email prior to contacting us for assistance.
- If you receive your shipping notification email and your tracking number is not working right away, it is because your parcel has not been picked up yet. If the tracking number continues to be unrecognized by tracking service after 2 business days, please reply to your shipping notification email, or contact [email protected].
- All orders shipped are traceable on the corresponding couriers tracking website. Once your web order has been processed for shipping, you will receive an email with a tracking number which you can use to track your package. Orders may be shipped in multiple parts, shipping confirmations may include more than one tracking number. Please review your order confirmation for further details.
If your order has already been shipped via Canada Post and you have not yet received your package, a member of our customer service team will be in touch with an update as soon as possible.

December 18th, 2024 Update
Operations update: Accepting parcels and mail starting December 19.
We thank customers for their patience as we safely ramp up and stabilize our operations across the country. After welcoming back our employees and restarting our machines and vehicles, our network became fully operational Wednesday afternoon and Canadians have started to receive mail.
Beginning tomorrow, December 19, we will begin accepting commercial inductions into our network.
We will resume scheduled pickups and customers will be able to drop off mail and parcels at our plants, depots and commercial deposit centres (CDCs). All new mail and parcels will be processed on a first-in, first-out basis. Customers should expect delivery delays through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025.
As we stabilize our operations, here’s an update on what customers can expect in the days ahead:
Parcels
- Beginning Thursday, December 19, parcels can be inducted at our plants, depots and CDCs.
- Customers may experience lineups and delays at our facilities for the first few days. Therefore, we may not have the ability to complete live offloads. We ask for your patience.
- Customers can also expect delays when waiting to receive empty tractor trailers. For the first few days, equipment availability will be a challenge and we will fulfill on a best-effort basis.
- Scheduled pickups will start on Thursday, December 19, but it will take several days to process items. We will make a best effort to collect all items at the time of the pickup; if that is not possible due to volumes or equipment availability, we will return to pick up the remaining items either the same day or next day. It’s important to note that there will be delays from the time is it picked up to when processing begins.
- On-demand pickups will not be available until Monday, December 23.
On-time service guarantees
Service guarantees are suspended as the company ramps up operations. Once the network is stabilized, we will notify customers when on-time service guarantees are reinstated.
Return labels and call-for items
- All return labels created on or after October 15 will remain valid for up to 45 days until our operations stabilize.
- We will also restart the clock on all items currently held for customer pick-up at post offices, regardless of whether the office was open or closed during the strike.
- Beginning December 17, consumers will have 15 days to pick up their parcel before it is returned to the sender.

Resuming operations: Important information for customers.
Canada Post will restart operations on Tuesday, December 17 and begin the process of safely ramping up and stabilizing operations across the country. With our large, integrated network of processing plants, depots and post offices, stabilizing operations will take time and we ask for your patience as we do this safely.
Employees to return to work on December 17 and the resumption of service to begin.
After two days of hearings, the CIRB has issued its ruling confirming the parties are at an impasse. As a result, the CIRB has ordered employees to return to work and postal operations to begin to resume at 8 am local time on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. We will share further details shortly, but want to remind employees and customers that our operations will remain closed on Monday, December 16.
We will start by working through the mail and parcels trapped in the system since the strike began on November 15. New commercial volumes will not be accepted into the network until Thursday, December 19. This means we will not pick up or accept mail or parcels at our plants or depots for the first 48 hours. These first two days will give us the time we need to safely reopen facilities, restart machines and vehicles that have been idle for weeks, and begin working through the volumes in our network.
As new volumes are accepted, mail and parcels will be secured and delivered on a first-in, first-out basis. Customers should expect delivery delays through the remainder of 2024 and into January 2025.
What this means for customers.
To help customers better plan and prepare, here is some information on what they can expect in the days ahead:
Parcels
- Customers should expect delays and restrictions as we stabilize our operations, including for pickups, drop-offs and delivery.
- Scheduled pickups will start on December 19, but it will take several days to process items. We will make a best effort to collect all items at the time of the pickup; if that is not possible due to volumes or equipment availability, we will return to pick up the remaining items either the same day or next day.
- On-demand pickups will not be available until Monday, December 23.

CUPW negotiations: Postal operations to resume on Tuesday, December 17 following CIRB ruling.
On December 13, the Minister of Labour established a process with the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to assess the likelihood of Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) reaching agreements by the end of 2024.
What this means for customers.
Given the timing and duration of the strike, when our operations resume we will need to begin processing the mail and parcels trapped in our network. It will take time to clear our network, so customers should expect delays in processing and delivery.
Some limitations will apply for the first 48 hours after our operations resume – including for pickups and drop-offs. Because of this, we will not receive or pick up new product until Thursday, December 19.
We’re committed to giving customers as much information as possible regarding specific timelines and capacity. This includes providing details on what to expect during the first few days and as we continue to stabilize operations.

CUPW negotiations: Postal operations remain closed as parties participate in CIRB hearing.
On December 13, the Minister of Labour established a process with the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to assess the likelihood of the parties reaching agreements by the end of 2024. If the CIRB considers this to be unlikely, it would order postal operations to resume and the terms of the existing collective agreements to be extended until May 22, 2025.
For now, there’s no change to our current labour situation.
As part of that process, Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) are participating in a CIRB hearing this weekend. While this process is ongoing, there is no change to the current labour situation and our operations remain closed. We will notify customers, employees and all Canadians as quickly as possible when it's time for postal operations to resume. We look forward to welcoming our employees back to work and serving the millions of Canadians and businesses who rely on the postal service.
Commitment to reaching agreements.
Our commitment has always been to reach negotiated agreements with CUPW that would help us better serve the changing needs of Canadians and provide good jobs to those who provide the service. We remain committed to doing so within this new process while also meeting the postal needs of Canadians. Details on our start-up plans will be made available at canadapost.ca when finalized.

Canada Post is currently reviewing the details of the Minister of Labour’s announcement this morning to ensure we are prepared to fully participate in the process and comply with the Minister’s directive. While that unfolds, we look forward to welcoming our employees back to work and serving Canadians and customers. We will take all appropriate steps to support that process as quickly as possible given the direction provided to us by the Minister.

November 25th, 2024 Update
CUPW strike continues with negotiations supported by special mediator.
Negotiations continue with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) as the company marks day 11 of CUPW’s national strike.
Negotiations have been supported by a special mediator since Monday, November 18. Talks continued through this past weekend. We have continued to work to find agreement on changes to our delivery model to better serve customers with weekend delivery and more flexible staffing during the week.
Understanding the impacts on our customers.
Given the national strike, mail and parcels have not been processed or delivered, and some post offices remain closed. Service guarantees continue to be impacted for items in the postal network.
The longer this strike continues, the greater the impact will be when services resume and we work to stabilize operations. Processing and delivery will be challenged due to the shutdown of the network, and customers should expect delays.
Securing our future.

November 15th, 2024 Update
CUPW announces national strike that will cause service delays for Canadians.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has announced it intends to begin a national strike on Friday, November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET.
Canada Post’s operations will shut down during a national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.
Customers should expect delays.
Customers will experience delays due to the strike activity. Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.
Items will be delivered as quickly as possible once operations resume.
All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, a national strike of any length will impact service to Canadians well after the strike activity ends. Shutting down facilities across the country will affect Canada Post’s entire national network. Processing and delivery may take some time to fully return to normal.

November 14th, 2024 Update
Canada Post will continue to operate, but customers should anticipate delays in the event of strike activity.
The federal government and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) are actively negotiating a new collective agreement. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) will be in a legal position to begin strike activity on November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET, unless agreements are reached before then.
In the event of rotating strikes by CUPW, Canada Post will continue delivering and make every effort to minimize service disruptions. However, customers should be prepared for possible delays in the processing and delivery of mail and parcels.
What customers should expect during a rotating strike:
Canada Post’s operations will continue should rotating strikes occur. Rotating strike activity may be isolated to specific locations, affecting those areas for a specified period of time. During a rotating strike, Canada Post will continue to accept, process and deliver mail and parcels in unaffected areas. However, shutting down facilities or regions with rotating strikes can cause immediate ripple effects throughout the network. Once an item is inducted in the network, it will be secure but cannot be retrieved. Items will be delivered as quickly as possible on a first-in, first-out basis after a disruption is over and operations resume.

November 12th, 2024 Update
Canada Post intends to continue operating as strike notices received from CUPW.
Canada Post has received strike notices from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), for both Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units. The notices indicate that CUPW will be in a legal position to begin strike activity on November 15 at 12:01 a.m. ET.
A labour disruption would affect the millions of Canadians and businesses who rely on the postal service. It is critical that both parties focus their energies on resolving issues to reach negotiated agreements. In the event CUPW initiates rotating strike activity, Canada Post intends to continue delivering for Canadians and Canadian businesses while working to reach agreements. The Corporation will work to minimize service disruptions, but customers may experience delays.
